(More customer reviews)I love the texture of the ball... it's slightly bumpy/rough-ish, not shiny or slippery and the colour is darker than I thought it would be, but I still love it. I use the ball as my office chair, like so many others are doing, and within the first few minutes my back was less achy and I was suddenly more alert. I am curious as to how much better the balls are inside the ball bases/stands that convert the ball to look more like a chair, but honestly, I think the ball does fine on it's own. It's also great for those boring moments at work when things are going slowly... I just start a little bounce and it puts a spring in my sit ;-).
I haven't had any problems with the ball deflating, but when I first pumped it up I thought it was surprisingly small... but that was because I didn't realise I could pump pump pump until it was larger (despite the "burst resistant" name, I was concerned that I would pump it too full of air and it would pop once I sat on it).
I highly recommend this ball to anyone who loves purple or wants to try out a ball for an office chair!

I got sucked into this purchase because I thought I was getting the all-in-one type of set up. I suppose that is partly true, but even the most extreme beginners will find the DVD useless after a few viewings. It essentially serves as an advertisement for 3 other DVDs sold by GAIAM. I don't know the price of the ball by itself, but I would recommend that purchase for sure. Then find a DVD that suits you from there.

(More customer reviews)I purchased 2 GoFit Ultimate Burst Resistant Core Stability Balls w/DVD (orange 55cm and purple 65cm)over a year ago from Amazon (on sale). The ball is a very durable, good quality ball (no foul smells or sticky surfaces like some other stability balls). I haven't had any problems with the ball in over a year of constant use. I have had to occasionally add air to keep the ball at the appropriate size (but nothing out of the ordinary).
This package comes with the ball, pump and workout DVD. I didn't even attempt to use the cheap manual pump included, but opted to use my husband's automatic pump, which quickly and easily inflated the ball to the desired size without any effort. The workout DVD is that in name only. It has some good exercise ideas, but if you are looking for a stability ball workout, you will probably want to buy a separate "true" stability ball workout DVD. Also, if you ever need an extra plug, you can buy them directly from the manufacturer at GoFit.net.
As a side note ...
When determining what size stability ball to purchase, leg length (not height) is what ultimately dictates the size ball you need. If you know you have shorter or longer legs for your height, then you may need to get a smaller or larger ball than the standard height charts for stability balls.
For those of you who are unsure of how much to inflate your stability ball, here are some helpful guidelines taken from the fitnesource site ... On a wall, measure 55cm, 65cm or 75cm (depending on the ball size you have) from the floor and mark it with a pencil. Then inflate the ball until it feels/looks "full", but is not hard and still has a little bit of give in it when you press on it. Put the ball close to the mark you made on the wall and then place a ruler on top of the ball so that it touches the top of the ball and the mark on the wall. This will tell you how close you are to the maximum inflation for your ball size. If this is the first time you are inflating the ball, while it might seem full, it might still measure small. If this happens, give the ball a day to "stretch out" and then add some additional air, if needed. If you don't want to do all that, they also sell tape measures specifically for measuring the diameter of stability balls. Just keep in mind, that when you sit on the ball with your feet flat on the ground and knees bent, your knees should be level with or slightly lower than your hips (a 90 degree angle).

So, I returned it for this set and I couldn't be happier. The ball itself comes with a really easy to use hand pump and has a nice, sticky finish to it that clings to my hardwood floor like a yoga mat. I was only really looking for a yoga ball, but the theraband and DVDs were great to get with this kit as well.
The DVD is also a wonderful tool to have. The main workout dvd focuses on legs, arms and abs. WHOA does it target your muscles! I was amazed at the amount of muscle isolation and how this seemingly "easy" set of moves really targeted my muscles. It was a great workout- wonderfully shot, nicely explained and just fun to do. I can't wait to add it to my exercise regimen.

Savasa for Women Eco Body Ball with Pump and SPT Workout DVD Review

I was simply sitting on it at work (i weigh 130 lbs & have a 65 cm ball...more than enough), and it blew apart and i fell to the hard floor. I contacted savasa & after a month i finally received a replacement. I have blown up the new one (not easily though since the cheap plastic fitting on BOTH pumps i have broke!), and it is not even close to the same size!! I am very aggravated, and all they can say is that i need to blow it up more.... I can't, the nozzle is broken...besides that the ball is ROCK HARD and maybe 2/3 the size it should be. I'm not impressed & will not buy from this company again!!

The old ball's manufacturer seems to have gone out of business, as I found out when trying to get a replacement plug. Soooo, long story, couldn't get a plug so bought this ball. It seems to stay inflated better, but the best part was when I called Harbinger to see about getting plugs in case I run into the same trouble as I did with the old ball. The woman who answered at Harbinger was great, put some extras in an envelope and mailed them out the same day. I don't know if I'll ever need them but the fact that there still is CUSTOMER SERVICE in this country is heartwarming.

Blue 65 cm Puncture Resistant Exercise Ball with Hand Pump Review

(More customer reviews)I have the ball in blue, 65cm. It's fine. I'd recommend that Valeo ball over these. I bought a 75cm Valeo ball and it came with a foot pump, circumference measuring strap, workout poster, and plug pulling tool. I bought the Valeo ball because this ball seemed too small. I didn't inflate this ball to the proper size - it's hard to tell what is the correct size without the circumference measuring strap. Anyway, this ball is fine, but the stuff that comes with the valeo ball makes it a better value in my opinion.
I can't say every Valeo ball came with this stuff, but mine did and the product information does not state that it comes with anything. Link and item info for the Valeo ball is below.

I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser and my abs are so sore it hurts to laugh. The included ball is good quality not thin like other balls I have used. Keep in mind it takes about 3 days to reach full size. You will need to pump it up and let the rubber relax before continuing to add air. I really enjoyed this workout and the time flew by.

Sturdy, good quality, and the right size (I learned that the ones I'd been using at the gym were too large). I've noticed there are questions about what size on a lot of reviews of different balls. Some people say that the "cutoff" between a 55 cm ball and a 65 cm ball is 5'3" instead of 5'6". I'm 5'3" and the 55cm ball is perfect for me. The balls I'd used at the gym look more like the "burst resistant" balls instead of the professional ones. The professional stability ball is definitely nicer. It was easy to pump up with the supplied pump too. I guess I'll report back if I have any problems with it, but thus far it looks like a very good purchase. I'm enjoying the exercises with it as the balance challenge adds an interesting element. Nice fitness ball!

Okay I've been working out with the ball for a while now, and it's great. The only real problem is that I'd like to add more air. I've tried and tried but can't get the plug out. I can't do it with my fingernails, pliers are impossible to grip it with (and might hurt the ball anyway), sticking various items under the head of the plug hasn't worked so far. Is there a special tool I need to buy to remove the plug? I did manage to remove it once before, but over time it's become really stuck in the air. In general, that's a good thing; but for adding more air, it's difficult.

I wrote the manufacturer and they suggested working the plug out by using 2 dimes. Or my brother-in-law did it in 2 seconds flat using a butter-knife. :) So it hasn't been a real problem. I've had the ball quite a while now, and it works great. I've done some long stability-ball exercise classes, and this is perfect for them. Very good quality.

(More customer reviews)I bought this ball mainly to use while sitting at a table while working. It's an appropriate height to substitute as a chair, and it is indeed 65 cm in diameter, as advertised. It did have a very rubbery odor for about 4 days, but now it's fine, and I'm pleased that I haven't had to re-inflate yet after about 3 weeks of use.
