Ab Lounge Sport Review

Ab Lounge Sport
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This little lounger is a great way to exercise and watch t.v. or listen to music. It is the BEST way to do painless (even COMFORTABLE)sit-ups. I even use it as an inversion table in the reverse-stretch position. I paid $150. for this, including shipping and was really disappointed to find it at the local Linens and Things for 79.99. I'm not so young, and the idea of disassembling, packing and returning was just too much for me. I must also say...it was heck to assemble. I did it in a couple of sittings. BUT WORTH IT ! You won't be sorry. Wish that it came in choices of colors and base designs. I'd love to have it as a permanent fixture in my living room. To make it look a little "homier" , I added a faux lamb's rug to cover the seat. Also makes for warm, soft, cozy exercising.

More effective than standard sit-ups or bent knee crunches, the Ab Lounge Sport delivers an effective ab workout for people of all fitness levels. The Ab Lounge Sport is designed to tighten and tone your upper abs, lower abs, and obliques faster than you ever thought possible, with an advanced jackknife design that's far more efficient than traditional ab exercises. The jackknife design works your ab muscles with a complete range of motion, toning and tightening your abs for long periods during each jackknife rep. As a result, the chair elicits more muscle activity in your upper and lower abdominals, helping transform flabby abs and love handles into a sensationally sexy swimsuit stomach. The Ab Lounge Sport also strengthens such core muscles as your abs and back, where your functional strength originates. And thanks to the well-designed steel, plastic, and fabric frame, you'll enjoy plenty of support for your head, neck, and back throughout the entire exercise, so you won't accidentally strain a non-ab muscle through poor form. Other details include a foldable frame for easy storage and a weight limit of 275 pounds.
The Ab Lounge Sport--which comes with a workout DVD and a healthy eating guide with tips and recipes--measures 39.5 by 44.5 by 30 inches (W x H x D), weighs 32 pounds, and carries a 90-day warranty.

ACCUSPLIT AE120XL Pedometer, Steps Only Review

ACCUSPLIT AE120XL Pedometer, Steps Only
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
ACCUSPLIT AE120XL Pedometer, Steps Only
This pedometer comes complete with a lithium battery installed; there's nothing else to buy. The battery should last at least 5 years.
- The only "control" is the reset button. Press this and the counter goes to zero; which is what I do every morning.
- It counts every step you walk or jog, from 1 to 99999, then starts over. That's enough capacity for about 50 miles!
- The built-in clip holds the unit tightly to a belt or waistband. The attached 6" leash has two additional clips to attach to your clothing. These are to protect the unit from hitting the floor in case it slips off your belt. I wear the pedometer every day and it's stayed on my belt.
- The instructions explain where to position it on your waist, to get the best accuracy. I've found it to register too low occasionally by up to 4%. I.e., check the reading, walk 100 steps and check the reading again - and it sometimes registers as low as 96 steps. Many times though, it's dead on. However, for me, it's about 90% accurate going up and down stairs. It may be different for you, depending on the jolt of your steps and other factors.
- The unit only registers steps when it's vertical; i.e., with the cover closed. This is good, because the cover protects the display from damage. To see your "progress", unsnap the cover and look down at the count. The liquid crystal display digits are 1/2" high, so they are easy to read. There is no light for nighttime use, but that would quickly drain the battery. It has an internal pendulum that senses the motion of stepping or jogging.
- Maybe it's only me, but this thing provides an incentive to walk more, by letting me know how many steps I've taken.
- Accusplit provides a "5-year no proof-of-purchase warranty". How they would know it's been more than 5 years is a mystery without needing a receipt, and there's no serial number or manufacture date on the unit. In any case, if it needs repair, instructions on the unit itself tell you where to send it, and say to include your return address and phone number (no money). Can't beat that!
- To calculate the distance you've walked, multiply the steps taken times your average stride. E.g., my stride is 33" when walking briskly outside, so for every 1000 steps, that's just over 1/2 mile. 10,000 steps (times 33") is just over 5 miles. 99,999 steps, the counter's capacity, would equate to just over 50 miles, equivalent to 2 olympic marathons. This pedometer works well, is simple to use, reasonably accurate, unobtrusive, has a terrific warranty, and inspires me to walk more. At the price, it's also a bargain.

Sunny Health & Fitness Mini Exercise Pedal Review

Sunny Health and Fitness Mini Exercise Pedal
Average Reviews:

I bought the Sunny pedal machine for my father-in-law who lives in another state. He'd had a severe stroke (can't walk and hand can't grip) and is elderly. However, he was able to put it together with his wife so assembly was easy enough. He has said it seems to be helping his recovery since he can't have physical therapy every day. Still works well with no problems after a month. Decent product at a good price. Recommended.

Sunny Health & Fitness Roller Slide Review

Sunny Health and Fitness Roller Slide
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used this product on & off for several years and it works. I am a 162 lbs male and the Ab Slide Roller helps to give me defined abs, shoulder, chest and arm muscles, with just a few minutes use everyday. You're getting an ab workout, as well as a push-up-type workout when you use this product. There is just one problem I've had consistantly with this piece of equipement, and it is the reason why I'm giving it a 3-1/2 star rating instead of a 4 or 5; it breaks. After just a few short months of use (and by "use" I mean using it in the proper, recomended and instructed way) the internal spring or coiled metal that gives the Ab Slide Roller its resistance, breaks. This has happened with every one of the Ab Slide Rollers I've purchased over the years. (Again, I am using it only in the proper and recomended way.) I've had them last as long as 6 -7 months and as little as 3. But, as I said at the outset, this product does work.

The AB Slide is quite possibly the most popular Ab Toner ever! The AB Slide provides one of the very best exercises for the midsection. It allows the abdominal to be isolated, causing an effective extension and contraction of the abs muscles. At the same time, you will also be toning muscles in your arms, shoulders and back. It's easy to use... simply put your knees on the floor, grab a hold of the handle-bars and push forward. So why wait any longer, get the look and feel you deserve with the abslide! Teeter Hang Ups EP-550 Sport Inversion Therapy Table Review

Teeter Hang Ups EP-550 Sport Inversion Therapy Table
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Why I chose EP-550 Sport:
Purchased this item on Oct.6,08. Chose this model, because of a positive reputation and the easy storage function, though it was a bit more expensive than other brands. In addition, this model is supposed to have a very comfortable ankle clasp. Sport version even includes the gravity boots. So, I decided to purchase EP-550 Sport instead of regular EP-550.
The First Day:
The assembly is not hard, but the whole package is quite ponderous. Once assembled, the inversion table needs some practice, adjusting the height and weight distribution, when one first uses it. This will take a while to get used to it. Unlike some other models, this table uses a seesaw mechanism, which means there is no locking into 30, 60 or 90 degree angle. The whole movement depends on balancing weight between one's head vs. his feet by swaying his arm either toward his head or toward his knee, once the balance has been established. Make sure to view the DVD that comes with the kit.
Pros:
Gravity boots are quite helpful, and I love how I can oscillate.
Cons:
Cam Locks arrived completely broken on both sides. When I called the customer service, they knew exactly what was broken, even before I mention the specific location. Obviously, there is a proven packaging problem.
If you are less than 100 lb, you might have a difficult time going into full inversion, since there is a lot of weight at the bottom. Using the gravity boots helps a bit.
Because the table is bottom heavy, it does not fold like a video. I find that, even when I shorten the table to the maximum storage mode, the table still sways into the horizontal angle, which makes it difficult to store without scratching the wall.
Traction handle is a rip off. Personally, I do not find them useful at all. Besides, they are supposed to be worth $30?!
Conclusion:
I recommend buying the regular EP-550 and the gravity boots kit separately and save money for Traction handle. If you really want to try the traction handle, just buy them separately. Buying EP-550 Sport model does not give you any discount for buying the whole package. EP-550 Sport should be around $350, when EP-550 is $299.

Polar T31 Non-Coded Transmitter and Belt Set Review

Polar T31 Non-Coded Transmitter and Belt Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had to buy a replacement transmitter for my Polar heart rate monitor because I must've not read the fine print that said dry off the transmitter when not using. Sweat moisture activates the transmitter that drains down the non-replaceable battery. I failed to dry the unit when I quit exercising, so the battery ran down quickly -- about 10x quicker than expected. Not too bright of me considering I have an advanced degree in engineering. So I'm telling you all now.
BTW, the new one works fine. No problem.

Slim, lightweight, and completely waterproof, the Polar T31 non-coded transmitter and belt set accurately transmits your heart rate data to your Polar wrist-top computer. As a result, it's easy to monitor your heart rate during training runs. This version of the T31 is non-coded. If you're concerned about crosstalk from other electronic devices, Polar sells a coded version of the T31 as well. The transmitter belt--which works with all current Polar wrist-top computers except the CS600 and RS800--includes a sealed transmitter and elastic strap.
About Polar The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.
