Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym (Refurbished) Review

Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym (Refurbished)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have seen those Bowflex infomercials for 20 years now and was the first to say "Yeah right". I believed there was no way it can be as easy as they say it was. I couldn't be MORE wrong. I've owned the Bowflex for 1 month now and cannot believe how easy, fun and fast results have happened. Its simply AMAZING! I love it!

Let me start with the quality. As I was putting it together I was shocked at how well its built. Very study, heavy duty. No cheesy parts.
Second, the DVD that came with it explained everything to me on how each exercise should be preformed safely and to get the best results.
Third, it tells you that you have to commit to a complete healthy life style. You can workout on it as much as you want but if you don't eat right, your NOT going to see the results your looking for.
So, I did just what they told me too.... 1 month, dropped 13 pounds. I can actually SEE the results too! Pants are not staying up, shirts are not as tight and I feel GREAT! Its SO easy if you commit and now that I am actually seeing and feeling the results I am excited to see what happens at the end of 2 months, 4 months, 6 months.
If you have joint problems like I do, this machine is awesome. I struggled with free weights. My joints would ache while working out. With the Bowflex... NOT ONE ISSIUE!
If you're tired of looking like a marshmallow and feeling like a piece of balsa wood, I strongly recommend the Bowflex. It WORKS! Worth every penny I spent on it.
If I had to say anything negative it would be this. It took me about 5 hours to put together but I was able to do it by myself. It wasn't that it was hard or confusing to put together, just took a little while. Still, I am PRO Bowflex. Love it, Love it, LOVE IT!

Total Gym 1700 Club Review

Total Gym 1700 Club
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A 44-year-old woman that doesn't enjoy exercise writes this review. I spent many years as an overworked hospital administrator that did not take the time to keep myself in top physical condition. I purchased this product after realizing that that it was used in the rehabilitation gyms in the hospital where I worked. The Physical Therapists not only used this equipment for their patients, but also worked out on the equipment themselves at lunchtime and after work. You can get a great workout on this piece of equipment. Both my husband and myself use this piece of equipment.
Pros:
1.Well made piece of equipment, smooth movement during exercise
2.Can be used by both males and females
3.Weight limit of 350 pounds
4.Ability to add 75 pounds of additional weight to the bar for added resistance
5.Challenges muscles, young and old (you will know that you have exercised the next day)
6.Allows you to move quickly and easily through different exercises
7.Excellent Pilates reformer stand in
8.Easy to collapse to storage
9.Folds into a reasonably small size for storage (will slide under a bed or into a closet)
Cons:
1.It is a little heavy if you plan to move it very far. Mine is now permanently set up to encourage exercise.
2.Purchase an additional Pilates reformer exercise routine (check Amazon for options) if that is your primary reason for this purchase.
If you are seriously considering this piece of equipment I would recommend finding a friend with one and working out on it a few times before making the decision to buy this. My husband and I have discussed upgrading to the next model up (about twice the price) when this one bites the bullet. Overall we are very happy with this purchase and would recommend this product, or the more expensive models.

Want to tone your entire body without buying a complete home gym? Check out the Total Gym 1700 Club, which helps you strengthen and sculpt every major muscle group in your body using a single glide board and a few handy attachments. The Total Gym 1700 Club works by making you lift a percentage of your body weight against gravity, making the resistance smooth and fluid. As your strength and conditioning improves, you increase the total resistance by boosting the incline, thus increasing the body weight lifted in the exercise. The Total Gym 1700 Club thus not only works your upper body, but also your lower body, abdominals, and even your cardiovascular system. And by reducing body fat and increasing the proportion of lean muscle mass in your body, the strength training effectively turns up the thermostat so that your body burns calories constantly.
The Total Gym 1700 Club also offers several handy attachments that add a new dimension to your workout: a Pilates bar that helps you improve your range of motion and balance; a weight bar that lets you add up to 75 pounds of additional free weights to intensify your workouts (weights sold separately); dip bars and press-up bars; and an exercise mat to help protect your floor. All it takes to get in great shape is 15 to 20 minutes per day, three to four times a week.

Dip Bars and Press Up Bars add exercise versatility
Exercise mat protects your floor

My whole family loves this attachement. Only regret we have is that we should have bought it at the same time we purchased the machine. Works great for my itty bitty teenager up to my hubby who weighs 225 pounds.

Vertical Knee Raise Attachment. Specially contoured, oversized back pad, arm pads and handgrips add comfort to the grueling abdominal, shoulder and triceps workouts you can get from the combination Vertical Knee Raise Dip Station. Not recommended for the faint hearted, this is one option that builds champions. NOTE This station cannot be used with the MH30 Multi Hip Station. Sunpentown Giddyup Core Exerciser Review

Sunpentown Giddyup Core Exerciser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've only gotten this recently and cannot give a very thorough review yet, but since there are so few I thought it might be useful to say what I could. I got this because I have problems with lumbar stenosis and my doctor says I need to strengthen my core muscles. Riding is very good for core development, but the jarring is hard on the spine and of course there are some dangers. This machine provides exercise that seems pretty much like riding but without the jarring and without the danger -- albeit with less fun. I got the two-motor version that does a rocking motion and/or figure-eight motion, separately or in combination. The range of adjustmnent in speed seems adequate. There is also a simple program mode that I have not yet tried. There seems little doubt that I am getting core development from using it and have not experienced any pain. I feel pretty sure that aerobic benefit is very slgight at best. If you want more exercise for your laterals, they suggest sitting with both legs off one side so it rocks you side to side. The big question for me is where to put my feet when riding astride. They suggest holding them clear of the floor with knees bent, which is pretty tiring. Resting them on the floor (which is feasible as long as you are not especially short-legged) somewhat defeats the purpose of the exercise. There is no place to attach stirrup leathers. I am thinking I will connect a pair of stirrup leathers (the narrow English style) end-to-end and hang them across the saddle at the front, with a stirrup iron on each side.

Sunpentown International introduces the revolutionary exercise equipment - the Giddyup! Core Exerciser. This equipment simulates the actions of horseback riding with its single motions: a horizontal 8 motion. As the equipment goes through its motions, the rider is constantly thrown off-balance. This requires the riders muscles to involuntarily contract and relax in an attempt to re-balance and stay upright. This reflex action, known as counter-balance exercise, reaches the deep postural muscles of the pelvis and muscles of the thighs, quadriceps, hamstrings and glutei. The most appealing aspect of this Counter-Balance motion is that the user is exercising without really doing anything, as there is no exertion from the user.

Powerline PVKC83X Vertical Knee Raise Chin Dip Machine Review

Powerline PVKC83X Vertical Knee Raise Chin Dip Machine
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I decided to take a chance on this because the reviews were ok, and it's cheap. Well...it's a good try, but I think that in order to hit the sweetspot of attractive price and UPS shippable packaging, too many compromises had to be made.
Kind of flimsy: I weight about 190, and this thing flexes noticeably under my weight. I can see the pull bar bend as I put weight on it, and when I do dips, the whole thing gets rocking. At no time does it feel like it's going to tip over, but it definitely flexes in use.
Ergonomic nightmare: I'm 6' tall, and for me, the back pad is way too low. When doing pullups, at full extension, the horizontal arms are touching my armpits- it's too narrow. When I do dips, if I'm not careful, I will hit my head on the pullup bar. I understand now why MOST pullup/dip stations place the pullup bar on the other side of the tower. It takes up more room, but it would make a MUCH more useable apparatus.
I think the photos they use are either photoshopped, or they found the tiniest models they could to make the device appear roomy. It isn't.
$200 isn't a lot of money, so I don't feel 'burned' or ripped off...I just wish now that I had built something myself instead.
Look for mine on Craigslist real soon!

Panasonic EU6441A Core Muscle Trainer Review

Panasonic EU6441A Core Muscle Trainer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Upon first sight I had to laugh. When I pulled the core trainer out of the box my kids exclaimed, "Dad got a pony!" I had not heard much about core training other than from books like the "Abs Diet" which encouraged strengthening your core muscles along with dieting. To say the least I did not know such a machine existed.

As odd as the core trainer may seem the concept is simple; exercise the rider's core by constantly moving their lower body in different directions while the rider limits their own upper torso movements. The motion is very similar to horseback riding (at least the side-to-side motion).
The first thing I noticed when I unpacked the core trainer is how sturdy this thing is. Weighing around 80 lbs. I could see the core trainer was sturdy to hold me no problem (I am around 6'0 tall 210 lbs.). The weight of the core trainer may be something to consider if you need portability in your exercise equipment. While I can lift it by myself, I would not want to be moving it very often.
Sitting on the core trainer is comfortable. The seat reminds me of a large motorcycle seat and was always comfortable during the exercise. The core trainer has a handle on the front to allow first time users to hold on to something while getting use to the motion.
Each workout lasts for 15 mins. This is a preset duration that you cannot override. I found that after a few days of using the core trainer I wanted to do 2 x 15 min workouts. The parameters you can control are; the speed of the workout, the tilt of the machine (the pony), and the actual routine (side-to-side, forward tilt [Waist], and Backward Tilt [Hips] ).
With the core trainer you get a DVD that shows some exercise routines and also the basic posture while riding. I highly recommend viewing that. The exercise routines are interesting. I can see where making certain arm movements twists your torso into positions that simulate crunches and other high impact stomach exercises. My concern is the risk of injury. If you have any issues with your back I would not recommend doing any of the twisting exercises. An issue I have with the DVD is the menu selection. Whenever I insert the DVD I have to go through the annoying intro, I wish I could just jump directly to the menu.
So after a month of using the core trainer I have noticed my stomach area feels tighter. It feels as though I have done an average stomach routine. I have never noticed anything in my waist or hips. My inner thighs seem to be the muscles that get the most strain (from gripping the saddle). The workouts are never high impact. In fact, they seem about as low impact as you can get. All you really need to do is sit on this machine and keep your balance. I am optimistic that after using the core trainer for a few more months I will notice more improvements.
If you are someone who needs high impact exercises this may not be for you. However, if you enjoy low impact, and you are willing to stick with this machine for several months I believe it will pay off.

The Panasonic EU6441A Core Muscle Trainer uses Counter-Balance exercise technology to build strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. This no-impact strength training solution targets thigh, back, abdominal, and other core muscles for a serious workout. With pre-programmed settings, variable tilt and speed, and a compact, stylish design, this core trainer is a perfect fit for home use or fitness facilities.
How Counter-Balance Technology Works The core muscle trainer features a compact, stylish saddle design and innovative Counter-Balance technology. It builds strength by continuously moving you away from your center of balance and forcing you to use core and thigh muscles to re-balance. The resistance of your body weight gives you an effective workout each time. Some of the advantages of this approach include minimal joint impact, low aerobic impact, and low heart-rate increase.
Beginning a core strengthening program is incredibly easy. You simply sit and ride for 15 minutes, which is automatically timed. This makes the core trainer accessible to seniors and others with exercise limitations. The core trainer is designed to accommodate a maximum user weight of 265 pounds.
Build Muscle Strength and Boost Your Metabolism Three program modes -- forward, backward, and level tilt -- let you choose whether you want to work all core muscle groups equally or focus on strengthening certain muscles. Depending on the mode you choose, the core trainer effectively works the back, abdominals, obliques, quadriceps, gluteus maximus and thighs.
Combined with nine levels, these modes offer serious flexibility for customizing workouts. This makes the core trainer a perfect choice for both serious athletes with specialized needs and people with exercise limitations. It also offers excellent options for people who have difficulty tolerating stress on joints, need to keep their heart-rate below a target level, or have limited aerobic capacity.
In addition to the metabolic increase you experience during exercise, preliminary data shows that core muscle building boosts your resting metabolism, helping you burn calories.
Create Your Own Balanced Workout Since most aerobic equipment doesn't focus on core strength, using the core trainer in conjunction with working out on the treadmill, bike, or elliptical is a great way to achieve a balanced workout. If you want to get a complete workout in on one machine, you can pick between adding light arm weights, aerobic upper-body moves, and new positions for a customized core trainer workout offering both cardio and strength benefits.
Compared with most other exercise equipment, the core trainer is compact, stylish, and quiet. It fits comfortably in any room, so you can talk, watch TV, or read a book while getting in a great workout. In addition its built-in wheels make it easy to move and store when not in use.
The Panasonic EU6441A Core Muscle Trainer measures 29.5 x 16.5 x 34.3 inches (HxWxD) and weighs 82 pounds. What's in the Box Core Trainer, mat, two footrests, and two footrest brackets.

Resistance Toning Tube - Medium Review

Resistance Toning Tube - Medium

I've never used resistance tubing before so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I actually really like this product. However, I feel a little miss led because the picture shows 3 items. I received the red or the (medium). Seems to work great. The resistive tubing seems rather long. I'm 6'4" and in some exercises like the resistive band shrug I have to double up the tubing to get rid of the slack. I probably just need to cut it to a length that works for me. I do love being able to work out without expensive or heavy weights. Great product if you travel a lot. I would have given it 5 stars if it came with the other two bands depicted in the picture. For that I'm only giving 3 stars.

Bally Fitness Pilates Door Knob Rope Excerciser Review

Bally Fitness Pilates Door Knob Rope Excerciser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In the mid 1980s, I bought the Body Exerciser from American Consumer. It amazed me at how well it took inches off of my thighs. Over the years, some of the plastic pulleys wore down, so I have been looking for a replacement. The Bally Fitness Pilates Door Knob Rope Exerciser comes close to matching the Body Exerciser. It has three minor problems that if you are willing to work with, will do the job that the Body Exerciser does. First, it squeaks. Second, the loop that fits over the door knob has a tendency to slide off easily. Last, the rope itself is too short (I am 5'4"). I easily solved all of these problems. I ignore the squeak. I added extra rope to the loop section and to the exercise section. I have been using the Bally Exerciser and am already seeing my thighs and abdomen tighten up and slim down. The results I obtained with this product were excellent, which made its imperfections acceptable.

Body Sold Heavy Duty Roman Chair GRCH322 Review

Body Sold Heavy Duty Roman Chair GRCH322
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought one of these three years ago.
There is little question that this is a basic "Roman Chair." You CANNOT get a better exercise for your back, abdomen or lower shoulders.
This will help you do situps and backups. It will strengthen your back and abdomen so that you can easily engage in other more aerobic exercises.
After you get up to about thirty reps on this chair, you will be able to walk better and perform almost any other kind of exercise with ease.
I highly recommend this particular model because it is very well-built, very well-engineered, and, "Body Solid" guarantees it for a lifetime. It is a deal on this listing because you get free shipping. For a heavy piece of equipment like this, free shipping brings this piece within the very affordable range.
