(More customer reviews)I have owned this belt for about 2 months now...i had an "ab belt" in high school and it only pulsed a lil...but this is the real deal....after ya reach like 15-20 on the intensity(that goes to 100) you can actually feel the muscles contract. The package says to use it for 30 min a day....but i find it so easy and comfertable i use it at least 80min a day.
I have gone from a generally height/weight prop, with little definition....tonow i can actually see where my stomache actually "cuts" inwards....it looks so good....and all i do is watch my food intake(no junk)
As for a complaint in a review below...
1) i have never had a problem with batteries......same batteries for over two months...used everyday for at least 80min
2) The pads....i have found that if you make sure to properly place them, yes the stickyness wears off after about 30 uses...but that is only used to hold in place....THE BELT IS VELCRO!!!!!!!!! no need to always be sticky.....i just use a water base lube to keep the contact uniform across the pads....works like new pads.....never had a problem
p.s. its so easy to use i try to wear it whenever i am on my computer...matter of fact...its on right now :)I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!

(More customer reviews)I am five feet nine inches tall and weigh about 155 pounds (normally information I don't give out, but I will for this review).My goal the last year or so has been to improve my abdominal strength and definition. I decided to try the Slendertone product to see if it would have a positive effect.
As of March, 2009, I have been using the Slendertone product for about 9 weeks for a total of about 45 sessions. The jury is still out on this product. Before I received Slendertone my abdominal routine included three sets of bicycle crunches three times weekly for a total time commitment of about 45 minutes per week.Switching to Slendertone increased my time commitment by over four times. I do five - 40 minute sessions per week for a total of about 200 minutes per week.
Despite the very large time commitment, I really haven't noticed any better abdominal definition or strength compared with the bicycle crunches I did previously. I will post an update after I devote a few more months to the Slendertone.
Although some claim the Slendertone is "pleasant" and you can do other things as you wear it that is really not true. I really don't feel I'm getting a good workout unless I have the intensity on maximum (100%). It usually takes me about ten to fifteen minutes to work my way up to the maximum intensity. In order to feel somewhat comfortable, I need to be in a semi-reclining position during the contractions. Usually I watch TV as I do the workout. There is no way I would be able to walk around or even sit at a computer at that intensity level.
It is also important to remember that in order to actually "see" abdominal muscles with definition, it requires a thin abdominal fat layer. In fact, everyone has a "six-pack" already. The reason we can't see it on most people is simply because the fat layer is covering it up. So, it's important to also lower your body fat content if you want to actually "see" abdominal muscles. Exercising can "build" abdominal muscles somewhat to help them standout, but lessening abdominal fat is essential.
Some have commented on the wearing out of the pads. I have used the same pads for all 45 sessions over nine weeks. They are still fine. About once a month, I wipe the pads with a cleaner I have for table tennis paddles (SpinMax). It reconditions the pads and makes them sticky again. Wiping down the pads with some type of reconditioner occasionally will lengthen the life. It's also important to cover the pads after each use and "roll" the covers on so it squeezes out any air pockets.I would estimate the pads will last from three to four months with regular use, but I will update this review again when I replace the pads.
Personally, I think intense sessions of bicycle crunches totaling about 45 minutes a week appears to be as effective as this product that requires 200 minutes per week.But I will stick with Slendertone for a while longer and post my future observations.

They have a phone number that automatically puts you on hold when you call, no automated voice that lets you select what you are calling for at all, just the hold music. No one picked up, sat on the phone literally waiting for 45 minutes with no one picking up. I watched an entire tv show waiting for this. Tried emailing them twice with no response, Amazon even responded reminding me that I had sent an email to them but the company did no such thing. All I wanted was an exchange, not even a refund, just so I could get a working belt. This company is completely shady with no customer support at all, never ever buy from them because you will never be able to contact anyone in case something goes wrong.
