Kind of cheaply built, display was tilted to the side. There are 3 pulse modes, but I don't like 2 of them. Works OK, more of a novelty item.

(More customer reviews)When plugged into an electrical outlet (I haven't tried it with the 9v battery yet - is supposed to have less output that way), this unit gives the same professional quality treatment I get at the Chiropractor. The unit controls 8 electrodes at once, each pair of electrodes can be independently adjusted to the intensity you like. The 2" electrodes are great, the extra 12 1.5" electrodes that came with my unit don't stick very well, even if you wet them a little. The 2" electrodes are the way to go. We also ordered the gloves from the same manufacturer. The gloves aren't quite perfected yet. Had to wet them down really well before they would conduct at all.
I've been receiving this type of treatment off & on for a few years now at my chiropractor, my father bought a similar but portable unit (run's off a 9v battery) which I thought I liked until trying this. My dad's unit only controls 4 electrodes, and not independently. Also I can turn his unit up to 100% and still not get the intense contractions I am used to at the chiro. With this unit set at about 33% intensity - I was getting a full intense contraction, and I could adjust the intensity in any area I like during the treatment. It has a timer feature that will let you go for up to an hour, and it has a feature which controls the way that the stimulation is applied. It ranges from a prolonged contraction (15 secs or so) then a rest and repeat, to shorter contraction/rest intervals. The 15 second setting is most similar to what I get at the Dr, so that's what I used at home. After my treatment I went to bed and in the morning woke up feeling so much better - my back was much less stiff than usual.

(More customer reviews)This diminutive EMS (technically NOT a TENS unit) stim device is packed with incredible power (be VERY careful and conservative with output level dials turning) and awesome design for even one-handed parameter settings via logical and simple button layout. For those who know how to use EMS properly, this model delivers far beyond its cost and is best-in-class.
One 9v battery lasts and lasts, the all digital design eliminates old-tech power-robbing prior similar units.
Most important is to forget using the inferior pads included and only ever buy vastly superior "PALS Platinum" pads by Axelgaard. Their white foam pads work best for adhering to flat skin areas and their knit steel Multistick best for bending around contact areas. Easily found online.
The best quality stim pads makes all the difference for both comfort (peeling away pads really sting unpleasantly) and durability. With careful use, PALS lasts for dozens of applications. Cheaper pads barely last one session before slipping away from skin, THE cause of discomfort.
While only $55 and pack-of-cards size, this EMS unit MUST be used with care and never reckless Jackass-style play. It easily could cause muscle damage with its output power.
