(More customer reviews)The stabilizer works well for biofeedback during lumbar motor control/stabilization training. It is most commonly used with the patient supine, under the low back, to detect changes in lumbopelvic positioning. It can also be used with the patient in prone to measure abdominal drawing in. Both of these can fairly readily be accomplished with a manual blood pressure cuff.
It can also be used for motor control training of the cervical spine. The deep neck flexors are trained to initiate nodding the head without activation of the sternocleidomastoids or scalenes.
Occasionally, there is a slow leak in the unit. It usually occurs where the tubing meets the gauge. I've had a few of these, and after a lot of use one developed a leak in the cuff itself. If these deficits were corrected, I'd give it 5 stars...I am glad to see the price on these is decreasing, but when you consider that a manual blood pressure cuff can be purchased for about $25, and can do most of the same things...it is still overpriced.
